When this 1958 Porsche 356A arrived from Kansas, its condition was very well preserved. The body panels required little repair before painting, and a lot of the interior was salvaged.
Overview
Bodywork
The car is taken down to bare metal before the painting process can begin. This ensures that any defects in the body are repaired so that they don't show through the paint.
These pictures depict the stages of laying down the first layers of paint and then coming back in and giving the paint gloss with a clear coat. This car was originally black and the owner wanted to respect its history.
Places like the floor are painted in an under-coating material that has more rust-preventative qualities. At this stage, the trunk and engine compartment are painted, too.

Interior
As for the interior, the car was in great condition. So much so that we ended up keeping the carpet that was already in the car and just cleaned it. The rubber floor mat was cracking, so we replaced it. The seats were reupholstered in a deep green color. The steering wheel that arrived with the car was kept the same.
