This Porsche 912 underwent a full inspection and restoration of the necessary components, and it was finished in May 2021. It was a nice clean car from Arizona. The goal with this project was to maintain as many original components of the vehicle as possible. We did a general exterior repaint and some minor rust repair. The 912 received interior upgrades like the new headliner and carpet, but most everything else was carefully restored, not replaced. The original seats were in solid condition, so we left those alone.
Here, you can see the new headliner but the original sunshades.
We removed all the windows and trim from the car, and assessed what needed replacement during reconstruction. All seals and weatherstripping was replaced on the 912. Most Exterior trim stayed original. Wheels and most chrome parts were polished but not rechromed. New tires were added.
The bottom of the car was inspected for rust and repaired in any problem areas. A new undercoat was applied, and the gas tank received new paint. As you can see from the photos, a lot was kept in its original condition since it has been so well preserved.
The engine had been overhauled by the previous owner, so no work was done on that front.
